he Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) is a business and technology program administered by NC State University on behalf of The University of North Carolina system. The SBTDC operates in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Appalachian State University-affiliated Center, located in Boone, serves Ashe, Alleghany, Avery, Mitchell, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey counties.
The SBTDC has a team of experienced business professionals prepared to help small and mid-size businesses in the High Country. Assistance offered includes business counseling, advice regarding financing and sourcing capital, evaluating financial performance, obtaining quality market information, improving leadership skills and employee performance, and future planning.
